JOB summary
We are currently searching for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our office in Rome within the Emedded Division.​
The role focuses on contributing to the design of embedded systems, managing high-speed signals, developing power management solutions, and ensuring signal and power integrity. The role is involved in integration and testing laboratory activities, as well as in preparing detailed project documentation and participating in technical reviews with customers.
Objectives of the role
HW & FW Design
- good knowledge of microprocessor architectures and design of analog and digital boards based on microcontrollers and/or FPGAs;
- good knowledge in the use of Digital Signal Processing techniques and their implementation on FPGAs;
- knowledge of the main communication bus for interfacing on-board and off-board peripherals;
- circuit network simulation (PSpice);
- good knowledge of the DO-254 standard;
- management of project documentation according to MIL-498 Standards;
- embedded software development with C programming languages;
- VHDL and SOPC development on Vivado/Xilinx platform;
- knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques and their implementation on FPGAs;
- basic skills in HW Radio Frequency design;
Integration and testing:
- Perform integration and testing activities in a laboratory environment under the supervision of the Senior Hardware Engineer.
- Conduct thorough testing to validate design performance and reliability.
Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including technical data packages, production packages, test requirements and test procedures.
- Ensure all documentation meets industry standards and customer requirements.
Customer interaction:
- Present technical project reviews to customers, providing clear and concise explanations of design choices and progress.
- Address customer enquiries and use the feedback to improve the design.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design, preferably in aerospace applications;
- proficiency in designing digital boards with FPGA and microcontrollers;
- experience with impedance-controlled board design for high-speed signals;
- knowledge of power management and distribution board design;
- strong understanding of signal integrity and power integrity principles;
- proficient in hardware simulation and analysis tools;

Objectives of the role
- Understanding customer needs and aligning product offerings with their requirements in collaboration with FAE department.
- Providing commercial & technical expertise and guidance to customers throughout the business development & sales process.

Your tasks

- Ensure highly personalized customer engagement in all the pre-sales activities in collaboration with FAE.
- Liaise with the FAE/engineering team/PM team to address technical and program concerns or customer needs.
- Responsible for the commercial & technical documentation to be prepared for a RFI, RFP, RFQ.
- Ensure highly personalized customer engagement in all post-sales activities in collaboration with Project team .
- Give active feedback and insights from the market to the product development and marketing team.
- Participate in sales meetings, trade shows and industry events to promote our products or services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics and competitor offerings.
Required skills and qualifications
- BA bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in a similar technical sales role.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, target-driven professional with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills. This role requires demonstrable experience in presenting technical products and effectively communicating complex concepts to all audiences.
The candidate must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions, alongside the ability to work independently, collaboratively. The position requires travel in Italy and abroad.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Defence Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Italian defence market, major players (e.g., Leonardo, ELT, Rheinmetall), and customer preferences. Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Program Management in the Aerospace/Defence sector is required.
- Sales and Communication: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, multi-language proficiency, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Tools and Content: Experience creating commercial/technical content (whitepapers) and familiarity with CRM/sales management tools
- Technical Plus: Past experience with embedded systems design and development is a plus

Job Summary
The Technical Sales Support specialist drives sales opportunities by applying engineering expertise and methodology to translate business needs into precise technical requirements. This role acts as the technical lead for the Sales Support and Proposals team, managing the entire technical proposal preparation process, coordinating support from various specialists, and generating the final technical offer with all required annexes. The specialist must also utilize strong interpersonal skills to build a trusted relationship with the customer, aiming to secure engagement in a sale or project.
Duties and responsibilities
- Understand operational requirements from customer documentation or interviews and establish the basis of agreement on what the product is to do.
- Provide specialized advice and consultancy to customers to further analyze and detail the operational requirements to define the core of system functional requirements.
- Map the required system functional requirements into system characteristics and architecture to select the most suitable product configuration baseline and to define the level of effort for any customization or, if needed, completely new design.
- Complement the system requirements with program and project requirements, according to customer scope of work, deadlines, applicable regulations and other programmatic constraints.
- Involve Design Engineering functions for the in-depth analysis of technical requirements and for evaluation of the gap between existing products and target solution.
- Perform the technical presentation for the offered product or solution, by harmonizing all the information gathered from the customer and from the supporting internal functions.
- Finalize all the previous Technical Sales support steps into the preparation of the technical and support commercial proposal, with appropriate documentation annexes.
- Follow up the proposal evaluation by the customer and manage proposal updates, communication of additional or modified requirements, and contract negotiation.
- Provide to Business Development function the technical proposal package for evaluation and approval for delivery to customer.
Qualification and skills
- Education and Technical Foundation: Degree in Electronic, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics (or equivalent scientific degrees). Required knowledge of Systems Engineering and Program Management methodology, preferably within the Aerospace and Defence sector. Past experience with embedded systems design and development is a plus
- Organizational & Communication Skills: Full proficiency in the English language (written/reading technical documentation and verbal customer interaction). Must be highly organized and systematic in maintaining all proposal and communication documentation
- Work Ethic: Strong professional ethics, readiness for collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams, and the resilience and focus required to match bid deadlines and optimize time usage.
- Tool Proficiency: Mastering of MS Office and MS Project.
